Lucca Brughmans Joins Liverpool in Deal Worth Up to £30m
BBC Sport reports that Liverpool has signed 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk in a deal that could reach £30m.
Liverpool has completed the signing of Brughmans on a six-year contract, with him remaining on loan at Genk for the upcoming season before joining Anfield in 2027-28. Standing at 6ft 7in, Brughmans has already made his mark, starting all four of Genk's matches this season and representing his country at youth level.
The deal involves an initial fee, followed by potential add-ons, solidifying Brughmans as a promising option for Liverpool's future goalkeeping needs. With Alisson's contract expiring next summer and uncertainties surrounding other keepers, Brughmans is poised to fill a crucial role.
This signing is a result of Liverpool's global talent scouting efforts led by Matt Newberry, who has previously secured deals for Mor Talla N'diaye, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Armin Pecsi, and Samuel Martinez.
As it stands, Liverpool has Alisson, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman, and Vitezslav Jaros as their goalkeeping options.
