DIG Hazara Orders Expansion Of Search For Missing Foreign Trekker In Siran Valley
ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd Sep, 2026) Deputy Inspector General of Police Hazara Region Nasir Mahmood Satti has directed police and other search teams to expand the ongoing operation to locate a missing foreign trekker in Siran Valley, Mansehra.
During his visit to the area, the DIG reviewed the search operation and inspected teams searching difficult mountainous terrain, dense forests, mountain slopes and possible routes. District Police Officer Mansehra Muhammad Azhar Khan briefed DIG Satti on the progress of the operation.
The DIG appreciated the efforts of police personnel who have continued the search despite heavy rain, harsh weather and challenging terrain. Nasir Mahmood Satti directed the teams to utilize all available resources and thoroughly search possible passageways, mountain slopes, forests and other suspected locations. He stressed the need for close coordination among all teams and immediate sharing of any significant information.
The DIG also met local residents and sought their assistance in locating the missing tourist. He said foreign tourists were guests of Pakistan and their safety was the police’s top priority. He urged local residents to cooperate with the search teams and immediately inform police if they found any suspicious belongings, footprints or other information that could help locate the missing trekker.
