Bus Plunges Into Ravine Near Murree’s Lower Barian, Fear Of Casualties

RAWALPINDI, ( UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) A passenger bus fell into a deep ravine near Lower Barian Liran area of Murree on Tuesday, leaving at least three people dead and several others injured, according to initial reports.
Rescue officials stated that more than 20 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the accident. Several individuals are reported to have sustained serious injuries, and relief operations are ongoing.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 Murree dispatched relief teams to the location. Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also alerted and mobilised its Murree-based rescue teams after receiving the news. Given the magnitude of the accident, additional rescue personnel and resources have been deployed to the site.
Local residents actively participated in the relief effort by assisting in evacuating the injured to safety. The transfer of critically injured victims to private hospitals, with local resident support, is still ongoing.
Following the incident, Civil Hospital Murree and Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Murree have been placed on alert.
