Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that Captain (R) Safdar had a personal dispute with Amjad Shah, the presidential candidate of the Supreme Court Bar Association’s Independent Group, regarding a plot in Mansehra. He argued that this issue should not be politicized.

Speaking to a private television channel, Tarar mentioned that the PML-N Lawyers Forum had shown support for Amjad Shah. He acknowledged Captain Safdar's respectability but emphasized that he is neither a lawyer nor a bar member, advocating for him to steer clear of bar elections and affairs. Similar advice was given regarding Pakistan Medical and Dental Council elections, suggesting he should refrain if he isn't a doctor.

Tarar described Ahsan Bhoon as a respected figure with a strong track record in the legal community, losing elections only occasionally over the last decade. He characterized discussions about Bhoon as political maneuvering during election seasons and expressed confidence in the bar mechanism's strength.

The minister recalled Bhoon’s 2020 statement regarding verifying the credentials of bar council regulators, noting that his own degree had been verified along with those of Amjad Shah and himself when they were candidates. He assured that, to his knowledge, there were no issues with Bhoon's qualifications and reiterates Captain (R) Safdar’s lack of involvement in bar elections.

When asked about Bhoon's endorsement of Advocate Mian Dawood's statement concerning the Punjab Chief Minister, Tarar encouraged individuals to exercise restraint over language in public media, advocating for careful and truthful communication.
