Manchester United: Michael Carrick's Faith in VAR Despite Derby Blunder
BBC Sport reports on Manchester United coach Michael Carrick's perspective on Video Assistant Referee (VAR) despite a recent derby loss due to a VAR blunder.
Apology for Derby Error
Carrick discusses the official apology from Pro Ref following their failure to flag offside and interference by Enzo Fernandez during the Manchester City victory at Old Trafford.
"One-off things can happen... I've got faith in [VAR]. It's the system we work towards."
General Officiating Criticisms
Despite acknowledging the apology, Carrick notes that it doesn't mitigate the impact of the mistake, especially given the high stakes and its influence on the game's outcome.
Support for Leny Yoro
Carrick also expresses support for £52m signing Leny Yoro, despite his recent criticism during a Carabao Cup loss to Brighton.
"I've got no worries for Leny... he's got a fantastic future ahead of him."
