The Capital Development Authority (CDA), district administration, and emergency services intensified their field operations in Islamabad on Tuesday following heavy early-morning rain. Teams were deployed to monitor drainage, traffic, and vulnerable locations, ready to respond to any emergencies.

CDA sanitation and environment teams conducted dewatering operations and cleared roads, drains, underpasses, and other low-lying areas, while officials assessed the situation to minimize disruption for commuters.

Assistant commissioners and the additional deputy commissioner (general), along with their staff, oversaw drainage arrangements and coordinated with relevant departments, remaining in the field.

CDA Chairman visited various parts of the capital, including Babar Park, during the rain. He reviewed the drainage and sanitation arrangements and inspected ongoing development, landscaping, and renovation work at the park. He directed officials to expedite the projects while preserving the area’s green character and public facilities.

Subsequently, he visited the Emergency and Disaster Management and Rescue 1122 headquarters, reviewing preparations for potential emergencies stemming from heavy rainfall. Officials briefed him on available machinery, rescue equipment, resources, and emergency response mechanisms. He instructed relevant teams to remain vigilant and ensure swift responses to flooding, building damage, accidents, or other crises.

Authorities emphasized coordination among the CDA, district administration, Islamabad Water, Rescue 1122, and other relevant departments to ensure timely assistance to residents.

The CDA assured continuous dewatering and road-clearance operations to facilitate traffic and keep major routes accessible.

Residents were encouraged to contact Rescue 1122 at 1122, police at 15, or the CDA helpline at 1334 in case of an emergency.
