CDA Recovers 16 Kanals in E-12, Development Work Resumes

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) The
Capital Development Authority
(CDA) on Tuesday stated that it had reclaimed approximately 16 kanals of acquired land in Sector E-12, which had been illegally occupied, enabling the resumption of development work at the site.

According to a CDA statement, the land was being used for accommodation for private security guards, a holiday home, and 14 shops rented out for commercial purposes. The CDA explained that this occupation hindered its development activities in the sector and impacted the provision of infrastructure and other facilities.

The authority mentioned that after issuing public notices, it examined the relevant acquisition records and documents. Legally admissible compensation claims will be entertained, but the CDA emphasized that a claim for compensation does not entitle anyone to retain or use acquired public land for commercial purposes.

Verification revealed that the land’s occupation traced back to a relative of a retired CDA employee. The structures were subsequently demolished, and possession returned to the CDA. Development work has since been reinstated.

The CDA assured that outstanding compensation, where payable, would be processed as a claim against the authority through the proper legal channels. It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting legitimate legal claims while taking measures to safeguard public land and address unauthorized occupations impeding development projects.

The authority’s actions aim to facilitate development activities in Sector E-12 and enhance infrastructure and public facilities for residents and allottees. It will continue to monitor and address any encroachments to ensure the smooth execution of its development plans.
