Celtic sign Parma’s Oliver Sorensen on loan with option to buy
BBC Sport – Celtic have completed the signing of Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen on a season-long loan, with an option to buy. This comes after assistant manager Shaun Maloney hinted at up to four more additions before the Europa League squad deadline.
Sorensen, aged 24, joined Parma from Danish club Midtjylland just over a year ago.
Celtic have already brought in four first-team players this transfer window and have been linked with several other targets, including Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Sam Johnstone and PSV Eindhoven’s Joel van den Berg.
Maloney expressed the need for:
- Another left-back to compete with Kieran Tierney
- A replacement for Arne Engels, who moved to West Ham United
He also acknowledged the possibility of Reo Hatate leaving the club. "It’s possible," he said. "If he does move on then he’ll remember how good a player he was for this club."
The Scottish transfer window closes on Thursday at 17:00 BST, with the Europa League squad deadline falling on Wednesday at 23:59.
