Champions League returns – who are favourites and players to watch?

Champions League 2022-27 Predictions: Who Will Win the Title?

BBC Sport explores who might lift the famous trophy in Madrid on 5 June 2023.

European Football’s Premier Competition Returns

Paris St-Germain (PSG) aims to become the first team since Real Madrid (2015-18) to win three consecutive Champions League titles. Five English teams, including Arsenal—the current runners-up—are determined to stop them.

Expert Insights on Who Might Triumph

Julien Laurens offers his take:

If PSG do the three-peat, it would be an incredible achievement. I don’t think they will do it. I believe two in a row is special; three is almost impossible without Cristiano Ronaldo… I think Bayern Munich and Arsenal will reach the final. I predict Arsenal to win it; they have Europe’s best defense.

Guillem Balague shares his perspective:

With PSG’s inconsistent start, maintaining their level throughout the season will be challenging. Luis Enrique’s dynamic, pressure-focused style is demanding but has positioned them as front-runners… Barcelona are flying and could use some reinforcements. Arsenal, having found a winning formula, should advance to the semis unless they meet PSG early on. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, or Manchester City could be the fourth team to join them.
