Chelsea Agree £47.1m Move for Monaco's Lamine Camara - BBC Sport
Chelsea have agreed a £47.1m deal to sign Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara. The 22-year-old is set to undergo a medical after Chelsea complete the sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City in a deal that matched the £125m British transfer record.
According to the report, Chelsea had been reluctant to meet Monaco's asking price but lowered their demands when Folarin Balogun's move from Monaco to Everton faced uncertainty. The club aims to maintain squad strength despite selling Fernandez, believing Camara will contribute uniquely to Xabi Alonso's team.
This summer, Chelsea have made several high-profile signings, including Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Emiliano Martinez, Emmanuel Emegha, Danny Welbeck, Geovany Quenda, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco, Marco Palestra and Pep Chavarria. The team has started the season strongly, winning all three matches so far and progressing in the Carabao Cup.
