Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Meets Saudi, Turkish Officials
During his official visit to Türkiye, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a series of high-level engagements in Istanbul.
He met separately with:
- Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.
- Yasar Güler, Minister of National Defence of Türkiye.
- General Selçuk Bayraktaroglu, Chief of the Turkish General Staff.
The discussions focused on:
- Mutual interest matters.
- Bilateral defence cooperation.
- The regional security environment.
The COAS also attended a meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee under the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence, involving Pakistan, Türkiye and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sides reviewed opportunities to strengthen strategic coordination and defence cooperation.
These engagements reflected the strong bonds of brotherhood and growing strategic and defence ties among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.
