Chief Secretary Inspects Ongoing Development, Road Construction, Rehabilitation Of Burns Road
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah visited Burns Road and its adjoining areas to inspect ongoing development, road construction, rehabilitation, and beautification work.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary inspected work at different locations and received a briefing from relevant officers on its progress, said a statement on Thursday. He directed the authorities to accelerate the pace of development work and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe, without compromising construction quality.
Asif Hyder Shah stated that Burns Road would be transformed into a modern, well-organized, and attractive food street. He instructed the authorities to enhance roads, civic facilities, and the overall environment while preserving the area’s historical identity and cultural character.
The Chief Secretary also assessed the encroachment situation on Burns Road and in the surrounding areas. He instructed the relevant authorities to take effective and coordinated action against encroachments and work jointly to improve cleanliness, beautification, and ease of movement in the area.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary interacted with shopkeepers and members of the local business community, listening to their concerns and suggestions.
The business community expressed gratitude to the Sindh Government for the development and beautification work being undertaken in and around Burns Road. The Chief Secretary was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner South, the Municipal Commissioner of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, and other relevant officers.
