Chup Tazia procession taken out in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Aug, 2026) The procession of Chup Tazia, the final procession of the mourning period marking the Islamic month of Muharram, was held here on Saturday under tight security arrangements.
The central procession began from Qadam Gah Moula Ali (AS) and proceeded through Station Road and Rahim Shopping Center road before culminating at Karbala Dadan Shah, organized by Anjuman-e-Haideri.
As many as 1,000 policemen were deployed for the event's security. All 55 roads and streets intersecting the procession route were sealed off with tents and barbed wire. The police had started sealing these areas early in the morning, even before the procession began in the afternoon.
SSP Shahzeb Chachar personally supervised the security arrangements.
