UrduPoint (September 20, 2026) Faisalabad’s sanitation machinery remained fully operational on Sunday as the Suthra Punjab Agency launched an intensified citywide cleanup drive on World Cleanup Day. This involved deploying heavy machinery and sanitary workers to remove accumulated waste from vacant plots, open spaces, and other neglected sites.

Abid Hussain Bhatti, Managing Director of Suthra Punjab Agency Faisalabad, gave directives for special sanitation activities to continue across the district despite the weekly holiday. Field teams undertook targeted operations in urban areas to improve cleanliness standards and remove heaps of garbage from public and private open spaces.
A SPA spokesman stated that heavy machinery and sanitary workers were deployed at various locations to clear accumulated waste while field teams continued special cleaning operations in populated areas, ensuring uninterrupted sanitation services and visible improvement in the city’s overall cleanliness.
As part of the agency’s efforts to address deteriorating air quality and reduce environmental pollution, special measures were undertaken at major roads and different localities, including road washing, water sprinkling, and other sanitation activities aimed at reducing dust and maintaining a cleaner urban environment.
Abid Hussain Bhatti, Managing Director, emphasized the significance of a clean environment for protecting public health and improving the quality of public life. He highlighted that World Cleanup Day presented an opportunity to reinforce public awareness about cleanliness and promote a sense of collective responsibility among citizens. He noted that maintaining a clean city could not be achieved through official efforts alone and required active participation from the community.
The SPA Managing Director assured that field teams of Suthra Punjab Agency Faisalabad would remain engaged in providing better sanitation facilities even on Sunday, with the cleanliness operation continuing without interruption across the district. He also urged citizens to support the sanitation teams by disposing of waste only at designated points, avoiding littering, and playing their part in keeping streets, open spaces, and neighborhoods clean.
The combined focus on waste removal, road washing, and water sprinkling aimed not only to improve the city’s appearance but also to contribute to a cleaner and healthier urban environment amid growing concerns over dust, smog, and pollution.
