Muhammad Malik (Senior analyst and anchorperson) claims that discussions in Islamabad suggest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sahil Afridi has taken a firm stance regarding his political defense. Despite pressure from the federal government and security officials, Malik states, the PTI did not support an operation against terrorists.
According to Malik, reports are circulating that Ali Amin Gandapur has claimed to have the support of 20 to 25 provincial assembly members (MPAs) and could seek a vote of confidence as chief minister if a crisis arises.
Meanwhile, Junaid Akbar Khan (PTI leader) has accused the government of disqualifying Sahil Afridi solely because of his unconditional loyalty to Imran Khan. He called for an end to this practice and stated that all leaders should leave this "corrupt system" after any unjust decisions against Imran Khan's loyalists.
