CM Balochistan Emphasizes Strengthening Of Education Sector On World Literacy Day

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his message on World Literacy Day, stated that literacy is not merely the ability to read and write but the foundation of a brighter future for children, social progress, and a prosperous society.

He highlighted the Government of Balochistan’s commitment to education, citing practical steps taken to improve the system and reactivate schools across the province. Sarfraz Bugti noted that over the past two years, more than 3,800 inactive schools have been reopened and 768,000 out-of-school children integrated back into the education system.

He added that under the Balochistan Education Foundation, over 2,000 new schools have been established, with projects for an additional 1,800 schools and construction of 3,000 classrooms in existing institutions ongoing.

The Chief Minister emphasized that education is not just a sector but the fundamental means of building the province’s future. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that no child in Balochistan is deprived of quality education and that the younger generation is empowered to contribute to a prosperous and capable society.
