CM Sohail Afridi Issues Open Challenge To PML-N For Public Rally Anywhere In Punjab

PML-N can choose the city, day, date, and time for a rally, provided both parties have an equal playing field; if its rally draws a larger crowd, I am ready to quit politics, says Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has openly challenged the PML-N to hold a public rally in any city of Punjab. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that PML-N could select any city in Punjab, while PTI could also pick a city of its choice.
The PML-N could decide the day, date, and time as well. However, the only condition was that both parties be provided with a complete and equal level playing field. He expressed his willingness to quit politics if the PML-N rally proved larger than the PTI rally in terms of public participation.
He added that if the PTI rally was larger, the PML-N would have to answer before the people of Punjab regarding questions about its political performance, oppression of workers, its style of governance, and its perceived worst performance.
"I am once again presenting this challenge with complete clarity," he said. If PML-N has confidence in its performance and the support of the people of Punjab, it should have no hesitation in accepting the challenge.
He maintained that the biggest political test for PML-N is the performance of the government imposed through what he called Maryam Nawaz's illegitimate mandate. If confident in its alleged illegitimate government’s performance and public popularity, he said, it should come into the field and let people's power decide.
The decision should now be based on public presence and reaction rather than claims, official statistics, or media statements. "The challenge is before them. The people of Punjab will decide, as they did on February 8 by giving PTI a two-thirds majority," he said. "We will wait, God willing."
