Commissioner Directs Strict Compliance With Suthra Punjab Directives
SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Monday chaired a video-link meeting to review the implementation of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directives regarding the Suthra Punjab programme and overall cleanliness arrangements across the division.
Key Directives:
- Streamline Sanitation: The commissioner directed officers to further streamline the sanitation mechanism under the programme.
- Zero Tolerance on Cleanliness: Maintain zero tolerance regarding cleanliness standards in urban and rural areas.
- Effective Waste Management: Implement effective door-to-door waste collection, timely transportation, and disposal of garbage.
- Clean Public Spaces: Comprehensively clean main roads, commercial markets, streets, and public spaces.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali emphasized that providing citizens with a clean and healthy environment aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision and is the top priority of the division’s administration. He instructed officers to personally supervise field operations and promptly address public complaints.
The commissioner further directed daily monitoring of Suthra Punjab activities, emphasizing:
- Full Attendance: Ensure full attendance of sanitation staff.
- Optimal Machinery Availability: Optimize the availability of machinery.
- Strict Action: Take strict action against those found responsible for poor performance.
Earlier, officers briefed the commissioner on progress under the Suthra Punjab initiative, waste management measures, and district-level monitoring mechanisms.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners (Municipal Services) and Managing Directors of Suthra Punjab agencies from across the division.
