Commissioner Shoukat Ali has formed a divisional level Wheat Crop Management Committee to ensure the success of the Wheat Campaign 2026-27.
Committee Composition:
The committee comprises:
- Commissioner as the convener.
- Deputy Commissioners of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar.
- Director Agriculture Extension (Member/Secretary).
- Director Public Relations.
- Deputy Director Food.
- Chief Engineer Irrigation.
- Officers from Crop Reporting Service.
- Farhan Ghouri, Regional Manager of Fertilizer Company (FFC).
- Syed Arshad Hussain Rizvi of Pesticide Company Agrarian Crop Sciences.
- Khalid Mahmood of Seed Company Jalandhar Seed.
- Representatives from grain markets, fertilizer, and pesticide dealers.
- Progressive farmers from Rahim Dad (Sargodha), Malik Ismatullah Buchhal (Khushab), Abdul Qadir Khan (Mianwali), and Shahbaz Akhtar (Bhakkar).
Committee Responsibilities:
The committee's duties include:
- Monitoring the implementation of the approved wheat campaign plan.
- Conducting awareness campaigns to increase cultivation area and production.
- Ensuring the availability of seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and canal water at standard rates.
- Holding review meetings every 15 days.
- Achieving higher production targets than the previous year.
- Securing a prominent position at the division, district, and tehsil levels.
