Commissioner Orders Final Safety Audits As 38 Km Ring Road Nears Inauguration
Rawalpindi, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 11, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi, Salman Ghani directed engineering teams to finalize all technical safety protocols and emergency response systems along the Rawalpindi Ring Road in preparation for its upcoming public inauguration.
During a project progress review session attended by Additional Commissioner Consolidation Mansoor Khan, Director General PHA, RDA officials, and Superintending Engineer Communication and Works, the commissioner noted that daily operational reviews are ensuring the final one percent of civil works are completed without delay.
He described the flagship infrastructure initiative of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif as a strategic bypass designed to:
- Divert heavy commercial traffic from the city’s center.
- Resolve urban gridlock.
- Expand regional commercial connectivity.
The commissioner instructed administrative teams to:
- Complete comprehensive inspections across all entry and exit interchanges.
- Finalize connecting service road networks.
- Enforce strict right-of-way clearance.
- Accelerate greenbelt landscaping along the corridor.
He also directed the functional activation of CCTV surveillance networks and emergency assistance units prior to opening the route to transit traffic.
