Commissioner Reviews Beautification Work At Fareed Park
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for a “Beautiful Punjab” and the government’s mission to provide citizens with quality recreational facilities, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza visited Fareed Park Commercial Area to review ongoing development and beautification work.
Development Progress
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia inspected the ongoing development and renovation activities at the park and received a briefing from Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza on the progress of various projects.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza said that:
- Construction of a skating platform around the tall national flag at Fareed Park had been completed.
- The restoration of the walking track, establishment of an open library, and repair and painting of benches for visitors had also been completed.
- All lighting arrangements at the park, including lighting poles and other lights, had been fully restored and made operational.
He further stated that further repair work on the walking track was underway and measures were being taken to improve the quality and pace of the ongoing development activities at the park.
Commissioner’s Directive
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia directed the relevant authorities to:
- Further enhance Fareed Park as a beautiful, attractive, and quality recreational facility for citizens.
- Ensure that all development and beautification works are completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to high-quality standards.
He emphasized that provision of the best possible recreational facilities to citizens is among the priorities of the Punjab government. For this purpose, he added, particular attention is being paid to the beautification and renovation of public spaces and improvement of facilities available to visitors.
Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority Dr Nayyar Mustafa, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City Iqra Mubeen, and officers of Bahawalpur Waste Management Company were also present during the visit.
