Commissioner Reviews Fire Safety and Emergency Response Measures at DHQ Hospital

Rawalpindi, August 27, 2026 (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) — Commissioner Rawalpindi, Salman Ghani, has instructed the DHQ Hospital administration to strengthen fire safety, emergency preparedness, and patient care while ensuring uninterrupted availability of essential medicines.

During his visit to the hospital, the commissioner inspected various departments, reviewed emergency response measures, and checked the attendance of doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other staff. He directed that emergency exits remain clear and functional and firefighting equipment be kept operational at all times.

He also ordered the installation of fire hydrants, regular fire safety training, and mock drills in coordination with Rescue 1122.

Salman Ghani further directed officials to reduce patient waiting times and congestion in the Emergency and OPD sections and ensure continuous monitoring of medical and administrative affairs. He also reviewed cleanliness arrangements and medicine stocks, emphasizing the need for maintaining adequate supplies of essential and life-saving medicines for quality and timely healthcare.
