Commissioner Reviews Hospital Safety Arrangements, Sangla Hill Disposal Station
Lahore Division Commissioner Nauman Yousaf, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib Rana Hameed, on Tuesday visited Nankana Sahib district and reviewed safety arrangements at THQ Hospital Sangla Hill and progress on the Sangla Hill Disposal Station.
Officials from Rescue 1122, WASA, Communication and Works Department, Civil Defence, and the district administration were present during the visit.
At THQ Hospital Sangla Hill, the commissioner inspected fire hydrants and other firefighting and safety equipment installed in various departments, wards, and corridors. He checked the functionality of newly installed fire hydrants and fire extinguishers and reviewed overall safety arrangements. The commissioner visited different wards and interacted with patients to inquire about medical facilities.
Nauman Yousaf stated that the installation and functionality of safety equipment and fire hydrants at hospitals were being regularly monitored. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of Rescue 1122 in identifying locations requiring fire hydrants and other safety gear, while WASA was installing them.
He emphasized the importance of staff training in using safety equipment alongside its installation. All departments were working together to ensure complete and functional safety arrangements, with hospital administrations responsible for regular internal inspections of safety equipment.
The commissioner directed relevant teams to expedite surveys and physical work at hospitals and assured the district administration’s full support.
Later, Commissioner Nauman Yousaf visited the Disposal Station Sangla Hill, where WASA and district administration officials briefed him on the project. He was informed that the disposal station was being constructed according to NESPAK design, considering the catchment area and population of Sangla Hill.
The commissioner directed authorities to complete the disposal station within the stipulated deadline.
