Commissioner Reviews Urban Issues, Flooding, Cleanliness, Traffic, and Anti-encroachment Measures
SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review urban issues, flooding, waste management, Suthra Punjab activities, traffic signals, anti-encroachment operations, and other municipal matters.
According to a spokesperson, the meeting discussed cleanliness and waste management, Suthra Punjab initiatives, measures to prevent urban flooding, drainage arrangements, improving traffic signals, anti-encroachment actions, and various public concerns.
Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali instructed relevant authorities to enhance cleanliness under the Suthra Punjab program and maintain consistent hygiene standards across the city. He also directed officers to remain in the field and actively supervise sanitation operations.
To mitigate urban flooding risks, he ordered the timely cleaning of rainwater drains, drainage channels, and sewerage lines, emphasizing immediate removal of all obstructions in the drainage system.
The commissioner directed concerned departments to take necessary steps for efficient traffic signal management and improved city traffic flow. He stressed coordinated efforts among departments to alleviate citizens’ traffic-related issues.
He also ordered further strengthening of the anti-encroachment operation, taking stringent action against encroachments on major roads, markets, and public spaces.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali instructed all participating institutions to fulfill their responsibilities effectively within their designated jurisdictions and ensure regular monitoring of ongoing measures.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Additional Commissioner Coordination, Director Development and Finance, Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services/Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency/Chief Executive Officer Sargodha Waste Management Company, Managing Director WASA, Executive Engineer Highways, Assistant Commissioner Sargodha, Deputy Director Development, Municipal Corporation’s Municipal Officer Regulation, and other relevant officers.
