Commissioner Seeks Inquiry After Sewerage Project Fails to Facilitate People
UrduPoint (25 August, 2026) – Multan division Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan has sent a report to the provincial secretary housing requesting a departmental inquiry after an initial field inspection of a sewerage project identified several issues, including its failure to adequately serve residents in Burewala.
According to an initial field assessment covering 9683 feet of sewerage line from Haji Shair Diwan Adda to Amjad town, the following technical concerns were noted:
- The line does not provide suitable coverage for 22 adjacent streets.
- There is insufficient drainage from a six-acre government plot.
- Connection of higher manholes and the new sewer line to an already overloaded 42-inch diameter trunk sewer.
- Other technical deviations from the approved design.
Commissioner Khan identified these issues during a recent visit to Burewala. The inquiry will review the PC-1, design, hydraulic calculations, measurements, construction quality, bills, payments, departmental oversight, and any deviations from the approved plan.
Officials stated that the inquiry would pinpoint deviations, assign responsibility, and potentially lead to departmental action.
