Commissioner, DC Review Security and Administrative Arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)

Lahore’s Commissioner, Nauman Yousaf, and Deputy Commissioner (DC), Muhammad Ali Ejaz, visited the District Control Room at the DC Office on Wednesday to review administrative, security, and other arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Accompanied by Peace Committee Chairman Mufti Intikhab Alam, they received a briefing from Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters, Rao Rafi Afzal.
The meeting delved into the details of measures taken for Eid celebrations, focusing on both administrative and security aspects. A fully operational district control room has been established at the DC Office to monitor the events.
Key highlights included:
- Regular District Peace Committee meetings ensuring effective coordination.
- Removal of wall chalking from procession routes and completion of road repairs and streetlight installations.
- Three major Sabeel points set up at Bhatti Chowk, Milad Chowk, and Mughalpura Chowk.
- CCTV cameras for continuous monitoring of procession routes and vital locations.
- 5,682 police officers and personnel on security duties, alongside 370 Civil Defence members and bomb disposal teams deployed along routes.
- Rescue 1122 with 1,300 personnel, 56 ambulances, and 26 fire vehicles on high alert.
- Health Department deploying 60 personnel with 32 Clinics on Wheels and 26 hospitals ready.
- WASA assigning 190 personnel and 60 machinery units for water and sanitation, while 2,136 LWMC workers and 176 machinery units handle cleanliness duties.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf emphasized the administration’s top priority: providing the best facilities to devotees. He stressed a coordinated security plan for protection and highlighted the district administration’s legal responsibility to safeguard lives and property.
DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz confirmed that cleanliness and security arrangements along all procession routes were complete. He praised the close coordination between the administration and Peace Committee, assuring foolproof arrangements for Lahore residents during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
