CPO Orders Foolproof Security For Court Productions, Strict Safeguards At Police Lock-ups
FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain has ordered enhanced security arrangements for producing accused persons before courts and emphasized strict adherence to legal procedures. He strictly prohibited any escape from police custody under all circumstances.
During a meeting with district-wide police officers at the Community Engagement Center, CPO Hussain provided detailed directives:
- Police officers must pay meticulous attention to security duties when transporting accused persons to courts.
- Handcuffs should be used strictly according to prescribed rules and checked before placing accused in police vehicles.
- Cameras must remain operational in police station lock-ups, with two personnel on sentry duty for enhanced surveillance.
- No accused person will be held in illegal detention; officers must ensure compliance with legal safeguards.
- Private vehicles are prohibited for transporting accused to courts; only authorized police vehicles should be used.
- Police personnel should refrain from harshness and unlawful conduct towards accused persons, adhering to legal boundaries.
- Citizens visiting stations with complaints should receive courteous and professional treatment with prompt issue resolution.
- Immediate response is required for Rescue 15 emergency calls, and cognizable offenses should be registered promptly.
The CPO urged all police officers to unite against criminal elements, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts and cooperation in combating crime and maintaining peace in Faisalabad.
