Crackdown Against Usurers Continues in Dera Range Vigorously
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) A crackdown against individuals involved in usury is continuing across the Dera region. As part of the crackdown, launched on the directives of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ghulam Mubashir Maken, Tank police have registered multiple cases against alleged moneylenders.
According to police, the action is part of a zero-tolerance policy against the illegal practice of usury and the exploitation of poor and needy people. Multiple cases have been registered in Tank district, while further legal proceedings against those allegedly involved are underway in accordance with the law.
RPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken has directed all district police officers and other relevant officials to make legal action against usurers more effective and ensure that no concession was given to elements involved in exploiting vulnerable citizens.
The RPO stated that usury was a serious social menace that placed an additional financial burden on poor and needy people. He directed the police to take effective measures for its elimination and provide protection to citizens from exploitative elements. He also urged citizens to report complaints against usurers to the police without fear, assuring that complaints would be dealt with promptly and action would be taken according to law.
The RPO reiterated that protecting the public from usurers and other exploitative elements remained a key priority of Dera range police.
