CTP Rawalpindi Devises Traffic Plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Celebrations
CTP Rawalpindi have devised a comprehensive traffic plan for the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations to ensure smooth traffic flow. According to a CTP spokesperson, more than 910 traffic police officers and traffic wardens will be deployed to manage traffic and maintain seamless movement during the religious event.
Processions Details:
First Procession:
- Route: Jamia Masjid Hanfia → Jamia Masjid Road → Pul Shah Nazar → Banni Chowk → Murree Road → Committee Chowk → Liaquat Road → Fawara Chowk → Dingi Khoi → Central Camp at Jamia Masjid.
- Road Closures: Murree Road will be completely closed in both directions from Rawal Road turn to Liaquat Bagh.
- Traffic Diversions: Phased diversions along the route. Traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be diverted from Liaquat Bagh onto Tipu Road, while traffic from Islamabad to Saddar will be redirected at the Rawal Road turn towards Rawal Road.
Second Procession:
- Route: 22 Number Chungi → Tanch Road → Dhoke Syedan Chowk → Kalma Chowk → 22 Number Chowk → Adiala Road → State Life Building turn → MH Chowk → Mehfooz Chowk → Mansehra Adda → Cantt Police Station → Nishter Street → Adam Jee Road → Mithu Khan Ahata → Railway Road → Kamran Market → GTS Chowk (former Varan Bus Stand).
- Traffic Diversions: Traffic from Kalma Chowk towards Khattak Chowk, CMH, and Tench will be diverted towards Harley Street. Traffic on Peshawar Road will be redirected at Qasim Market towards Sher Khan Road. Traffic from Katchery Chowk towards Peshawar Road will turn at TM Chowk towards Murree Road.
Additional Measures:
- Prohibited entry of tractor-trolleys, trailers, trucks, and other heavy vehicles into the procession routes.
- No parking allowed around stages set up for the processions.
- Special traffic management plan for emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire brigades.
CTO Farhan Aslam appealed to citizens to minimize travel within the city during Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations and contact the traffic police helpline for assistance if needed.
