CTPL Pays Tribute To National Heroes On Defence Day

The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) on Sunday paid tribute to the national heroes and martyrs of the Pakistan Armed Forces who made supreme sacrifices in defence of the motherland on the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day.
In his message, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said, "September 6, 1965, is an unforgettable day in Pakistan’s history when brave sons of the soil foiled the enemy’s nefarious designs through unparalleled courage, valour and sacrifice."
He added that their sacrifices continue to inspire the nation, reminding every Pakistani of the importance of patriotism, national unity, and commitment to the defence and security of the country. The CTO praised the national heroes who laid down their lives for Pakistan, stating that their contributions would always be remembered in the country’s history. He assured that CTPL honoured its martyrs and national heroes while continuing to serve the nation, upholding traffic laws, and protecting citizens.
Meanwhile, CTPL has finalized comprehensive traffic arrangements for various Defence Day ceremonies across the city. Additional personnel and the Traffic Response Unit have been deployed at key locations including Mall Road, Lahore Press Club, Town Hall, Istanbul Chowk, Jallo Mor, and Wagah under the supervision of SSP City and Sadar Zones.
Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi assured that alternative routes would be provided to motorists during rallies, ensuring smooth traffic flow for commuters. He emphasized that no road would be completely closed and traffic would be managed through necessary diversions and alternative routes. CTPL will make every effort to provide citizens with convenient travel facilities during Defence Day events. Citizens can also stay informed about traffic conditions and alternative routes via the Rasta App, Rasta FM, and social media platforms.
