  • Pakistan’s digital platforms must be made safer, more responsible and more accountable.

At a meeting, Punjab University and NCCIA officials agreed to establish a permanent institutional partnership to promote a safe cyberspace across the university.

It was decided to establish a student society called “Safe Cyberspaces” to directly involve students in awareness, responsible digital citizenship and mutual education.

Punjab University and the NCCIA will also organize a series of awareness seminars and educational activities at the university.

The initiative marks an important step towards organized practical action beyond awareness alone.

Given thousands of young people studying at Punjab University and growing reliance on digital platforms, cyber protection cannot be ignored. Timely identification, reporting and effective prevention of harassment, blackmail, forgery, financial fraud and other forms of digital abuse are essential.

Through its partnership with the NCCIA, Punjab University reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe environment for its campus community and digital platforms where students, particularly women, can continue their academic and social activities without fear, threats or harassment.
