Dancer Mehak Malik Demands Separate Province For Her Community

If Bilawal Bhutto Zardari can run his own province in Sindh, our chief minister can run our province too, Mehak Malik says.
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) : Showbiz and stage industry figures have now joined the constitutional and political debate over the creation of new administrative provinces in the country, with renowned stage actress and dancer Mehak Malik making an unexpected and unusual demand for a separate province and chief minister for her community, the transgender community.
In a video statement on the formation of new provinces in the country, Mehak Malik said that the populations of Punjab and other provinces had grown so much that granting provincial status to major cities on administrative grounds had become an urgent need.
Supporting the division of provinces, she stated that Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan were extremely large cities and should immediately be made separate provinces.
However, she added that her community should also have a separate province with its own chief minister. Comparing the political system and governance, the stage actress also referred to the provincial government of Sindh and the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Mehak Malik argued that if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari could run and govern his own province in Sindh, then what was lacking in their chief minister? She said the chief minister from her community could also run the province effectively.
