DC Larkana Orders Zero Tolerance for Negligence in Upcoming Polio Campaign
LARKANA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 1, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Tariq Manzoor Chandio, stated that no child should be left without receiving polio drops and that everyone must work together to achieve this objective. He emphasized the importance of responsible work and ensuring no negligence in making the polio campaign a success.
Presiding over a meeting held in the Darbar Hall of his office regarding the upcoming polio campaign, which will run from September 21 to 24, the Deputy Commissioner issued strict directives to polio officers. He demanded complete and updated data, accurate team deployment information, and comprehensive details about operational mechanisms for a successful campaign.
He further instructed officials to promptly resolve any issue or problem so that no child is missed and everyone receives the vaccine. The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officials to perform their duties responsibly, ensuring no equipment or supply shortage and no operational disruptions.
During the meeting, he ordered education department officials to provide enrollment details for newly admitted children and mandated private schools to do the same. He also directed teams deployed at transit points to vaccinate every arriving child and promptly report any issues from katcha (riverine) areas.
Earlier, a briefing informed the meeting that 349,000 children across the district would be administered polio drops during the campaign. 102 teams will visit households, with medical officers, focal persons, elected representatives, and Health Department teams participating in the drive from each Union Council.
District Health Officer Larkana, Dr. Shaukat Ali Abro, Dr. Junaid Ahmed (PPHI), Dr. Irfan (EPI Focal Person), Dr. Iram (RNCHI), and Dr. Rawal Insaaf provided detailed briefings regarding campaign preparations.
