DC Qambar Shahdadkot Chairs Meeting On Polio Campaign Preparations
LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 17, 2026) A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Qambar Shahdadkot, Kamran Hussain Mushtaq Sheikh, at DC Office on Thursday regarding preparations for the successful conduct of the polio campaign running from 21 September to 24 September 2026.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Gulzar Ali Tunio, Assistant Commissioners of the district, officers of relevant departments, and officials associated with the polio program.
During the meeting, the Health Department officer, while giving a detailed briefing on the polio campaign, stated that a comprehensive strategy has been prepared to achieve all the district’s targets during the campaign, while the designated teams have been fully trained and all arrangements have been finalized.
Dr Farid Ahmed Larik, while briefing, stated that in the district, 1,161 mobile, 38 fixed, and 38 transit teams will go door to door and administer polio prevention drops to children up to 5 years of age, and during this campaign the set target is 371,517.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kamran Hussain Mushtaq Sheikh said that the complete eradication of polio is a national responsibility, and for this purpose all relevant institutions must play their role with joint efforts. He directed that monitoring of the campaign should be ensured and no kind of negligence should occur so that the set target can be easily achieved and the campaign can be made successful. He appealed to parents to necessarily administer polio drops to their children up to 5 years of age and provide them permanent protection from a dangerous disease like polio.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the relevant officers to fully implement the plan devised during the campaign, ensure that teams are present at the appointed time, and ensure mutual cooperation.
DHO Qambar-Shahdadkot, Dr Gulzar Ahmed Tunio said that we will work as hard as possible to achieve the set target, and cooperation will be extended to the teams at all times so that they do not face any trouble and this campaign will be made successful.
