DC Reviews Anti-Dengue Drive, Orders Intensified Surveillance Across High-risk Sectors
RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir presided over a high-level review meeting to evaluate district-wide anti-dengue measures, post-rainfall field operations, and vector control activities.
The meeting was attended by Additional DC Social Services Fazael Mudassar, Chief Executive Officer Health, Dr Ehsan Ghani, departmental officers, and regional area in-charges.
Officials assessed field monitoring reports covering indoor and outdoor surveillance, larvicidal treatments, target fogging, and sanitation operations across high-risk commercial areas, educational institutions, and healthcare centers.
Briefing the chair, health officials stated that surveillance teams inspected 4,787,335 households and 1,656,241 open or commercial locations through September 15, detecting a total of 171,565 larvae instances and recording eight confirmed dengue cases in Rawalpindi this year. Between September 7 and September 14, field units successfully resolved 21,236 out of 21,314 reported larvae detection cases, leaving 78 pending action.
DC Nasir directed field workers to accelerate larvae destruction and maintain strict monitoring of post-rain water stagnation points, while appealing to citizens to eliminate stagnant water inside homes and cooperate with visiting health department teams.
