DC Reviews Arrangements For 12 Rabi-ul-Awal Processions

Sialkot, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Aug, 2026) – Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Awais Mushtaq chaired a meeting with organizers of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal processions and Milad gatherings to review arrangements for these religious events across the district.

According to a spokesperson from the DC's office, DPO Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad and District Peace Committee Coordinator Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema also attended. The team discussed preparations for 187 Milad processions and 40 gatherings, focusing on cleanliness, security, and other facilities along their routes.

The DC emphasized the importance of religious scholars' cooperation to maintain peace and harmony. He instructed the administration to complete lighting and decoration before 11 Rabi-ul-Awal and tasked WASA and the District Council with ensuring cleanliness.

He also directed organizers to adhere to designated routes, timings, and a code of conduct for the processions.

DPO Dost Muhammad stated that Sialkot would host the highest number of Milad programs in the division. He assured stringent security measures for all processions, warning against any unrest. He revealed that Sialkot police had devised a comprehensive security plan and encouraged organizers to keep volunteers prepared and cooperative with security personnel.
