DC Tank Orders Probe Into Expired Medicines at DHQ Hospital
DC Tank ordered a probe into expired medicines at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ Hospital) in Tank on Sunday. During a surprise visit, Deputy Commissioner Jamshed Khan inspected the Outpatient Department (OPD), emergency unit, laboratory, ultrasound facility, various wards, and the medicine store.
The deputy commissioner expressed displeasure over poor cleanliness, particularly in the wards and around medical equipment. During the inspection of the medicine store, expired medicines and medical supplies were found. As a result, the storekeeper was suspended, and an inquiry was ordered.
Khan directed the hospital administration to ensure:
- Safe, quality, and timely healthcare for patients
- Improved cleanliness
- Regular monitoring of medicine and supply records, including expiry dates
He emphasized that effective monitoring would continue to ensure accountability and improve public healthcare services in the district.
