Defence Day Ceremonies Held at University of Chitral, Miranshah Model School

PESHAWAR (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Students and officials in Chitral and North Waziristan paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and patriotism at separate ceremonies held to mark Defence Day.
University of Chitral Ceremony
The Youth Empowerment Club at the University of Chitral organized a ceremony where students expressed their national spirit and paid homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs. Shuja-ul-Haq, Saleemuddin, and Dr Sadiq Khan addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Defence Day and the sacrifices made by the nation’s armed forces and martyrs. University students added colour to the ceremony by presenting national songs accompanied by traditional Chitrali music, earning appreciation from the participants. The organizers said the event aimed to promote patriotism, national awareness, and respect for the sacrifices of the martyrs among young people.
Miranshah Model School Ceremony
Meanwhile, Miranshah Model School in North Waziristan hosted a separate Defence Day ceremony, where participants paid rich tribute to the martyrs. Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Taimur Khan Afridi, Tochi Brigade Commander Brigadier Ahmad, District Police Officer Sajjad Hussain, school Principal Alamzeb, senior civil and military officials, representatives of the district administration and police, elders, religious scholars, and students attended the ceremony. The participants highlighted the sacrifices of the martyrs and stressed the importance of national unity, patriotism, and the role of young people in strengthening the country.
