Defence Day Dialogue Highlights Youth’s Role in Countering Misinformation

UrduPoint (September 07, 2026) – PESHAWAR: Tribal youth, seminary students, and representatives of minority communities actively participated in an engaging interaction with Inspector General Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North, Major General Rao Imran Sartaj at Bala Hisar Fort on Defence and Martyrs Day.

They paid their respects to martyrs at the Memorial, laying a floral wreath and offering Fateha. They also explored the historical Bala Hisar Fort, gaining insights into the Frontier Corps' history, traditions, and sacrifices.

During this discussion, participants raised questions and shared perspectives on security matters, counterterrorism efforts, and the importance of public-security institution collaboration. Major General Rao Imran Sartaj addressed their queries, emphasizing the crucial role of informed and responsible youth in combating fake news, misinformation, and hostile propaganda on social media. He encouraged them to verify information through research and credible sources rather than relying on unsubstantiated claims and rumors.

The FC commander highlighted that vigilant and educated youth can significantly contribute to fostering social harmony, strengthening national unity, and securing a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
