Five-Day Event Celebrates Pakistan’s Defence Day

KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 7, 2026) – A five-day Defence Day of Pakistan Inter-Collegiate Live Painting Competition organized by the Karachi administration in collaboration with the education department was held at PECHS College on Monday.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi visited the event and praised students’ artistic abilities. He announced that the final round will take place at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, on September 11. Fifty successful candidates from 128 colleges participating in the preliminary rounds will compete in a live painting competition during the final. All paintings will be preserved at the Arts Council for posterity.

Naqvi emphasized that the historic victories of the Pakistani Armed Forces have elevated the nation’s global standing and fostered unity. He believed that these Defence of Pakistan painting competitions would help preserve the memory of the sacrifices made by the military forces and inspire patriotism among students through their creative expressions.

Students from across the city are enthusiastically participating, using oil paints, sketching, and watercolors on canvas to depict national defense, war heroes, and border guards. Their artwork will highlight the bravery and dedication of the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy.

The Commissioner commended the youth’s enthusiasm, stating that all paintings would be preserved at the Arts Council. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner East Nasrullah Abbasi, Additional Commissioner Karachi Atif Jalib, Director of Colleges Karachi Region Gullab Rai, and College Principal Professor Shehla Qureshi.
