Defence Day Reflects Nations Unity, Courage: Governor KP
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday paid rich tribute to the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan on the occasion of Defence Day, saying September 6 symbolized the nation’s courage, unity, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

In his message issued on Defence Day, the Governor said September 6 was a historic day that reminded the nation of the supreme sacrifices rendered by the brave sons of the soil during the 1965 war in defence of the motherland. He stated that this day not only celebrated the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces but also highlighted the unity, determination, and resilience of the entire nation.
Governor Kundi expressed homage to all martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence and security of Pakistan, praising the services of the veterans as well. He emphasized that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had consistently stood with the country’s armed forces, demonstrating remarkable courage, sacrifice, and commitment in various national endeavors.

The Governor highlighted successful responses to last year’s Indian aggression and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos as reflections of the professionalism, determination, and bravery of Pakistan’s security forces.
