Who stopped you from formulating a policy against terrorism, and what policy do you need to openly label terrorists as such and stand with the armed forces against attacks on the Pakistan Army and its people?
In a statement on X, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of claiming they were prevented from creating an anti-terrorism policy, and posed eight questions regarding this assertion.
Questions for PTI:
-
Who prevented you from formulating an anti-terrorism policy?
- PTI has been in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for 13 years and also held federal positions; who stopped you from creating an anti-terrorism policy?
- What policy impeded the implementation of the National Action Plan?
- Which policies hindered the convening of Apex Committee meetings?
-
How do you define a 'terrorist'?
- What policy is required to openly condemn terrorists from Afghanistan and stand with the military against attacks on the army and civilians?
-
Condemnation of Drone Attacks:
- Drones recently carried out attacks in Kohat from Afghanistan. Why didn't the provincial government openly condemn these attacks? What policies prevented such a response?
-
Border Violations:
- There have been numerous cross-border attacks and incursions from Afghanistan, with direct or indirect support for terrorists. How many times did PTI protest or condemn these violations, naming the Afghan regime? What policy change is needed here?
-
Illegal Economic Activities:
- Sohail Afridi, what practical steps did you take in 13 years to eliminate illegal economic activities supporting terrorism, like extortion, smuggling, and non-customs paid vehicle trade? If any, elaborate.
-
Solidarity with Security Forces:
- Security forces make sacrifices daily. How many times did you visit their posts to show solidarity? The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also victims of terrorism, should be asked the same.
-
Confusing the Narrative:
- You confuse Pakistan's anti-terrorism narrative through various tactics. Why didn't you call the Khawarij 'Khawarij' and condemn them directly? What policy change is needed?
-
Conclusion:
- These issues lead to one conclusion: during 13 years of rule, PTI promoted massive corruption and plundered the province.
