The third phase of repatriating illegally residing Afghan citizens is underway, but the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) faces a shortage of resources and manpower, according to Director General Dr. Usman Anwar.

Speaking to journalists in Lahore, DG FIA revealed that individuals involved in facilitating illegal migration have altered their routes. He noted that while young people still seek better opportunities abroad, conditions in Europe are no longer as favorable as previously.

Currently, these facilitators are attempting to reach Europe via air routes. The third phase of repatriating illegally staying Afghans is in progress, Dr. Anwar added, emphasizing the current challenges faced by the FIA due to a lack of personnel and funding. He expressed optimism that these issues will be addressed once the recruitment process is completed.
