Defense and Martyrs Day Observed at Pakistan Embassy, Kabul
KABUL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) The Defense and Martyrs Day of Pakistan was commemorated with solemn dignity and national pride at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul on Sunday.
The ceremony, presided over by Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan, brought together embassy officers, staff, and a large number of the Pakistani diaspora residing in Afghanistan.
Ambassador Nizamani paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices and enduring legacy of the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan’s armed forces, highlighting their courage, honor, and patriotism. He emphasized the unity, faith, and determination displayed by Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the nation on September 6, 1965, as well as during successful operations like Bunyan-ul-Marsoos and Maarka-e-Haq. These events, according to the Ambassador, attest to the professionalism and preparedness of the Armed Forces and the enduring bond between them and the people of Pakistan.
He underscored Pakistan’s growing stature as the region’s net security provider, noting it as a testament to the country’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy without compromising on its preparedness and resolve against conventional and unconventional threats.
On this occasion, messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar were read out, and a special documentary was also screened.
