Democracy Necessary, Vital For Addressing Public Issues: PA Speaker
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2026) Speaker of Provincial Assembly (PA) of Sindh, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, on the occasion of International Day of Democracy said that democracy is necessary and vital for addressing public issues and tackling longstanding challenges.
He stated that:
Strong democratic institutions are the foundation of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Pakistan.
The Speaker emphasized that:
The true strength of democracy lies in public trust, participation, and active engagement with the public.
He called for strengthening the Constitution, democratic values, and parliamentary institutions, adding that democracy ensures that power remains accountable to the people.
Furthermore, he noted:
In a democratic system, respect for the rights and voice of minorities, alongside the majority, is equally essential.
Shah highlighted that public opinion, participation, and representation are the fundamental pillars of democracy. He concluded by stating:
