Did PTI and KP Government Hire Terrorists to Spark Unrest?
UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Oct, 2026
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has raised concerns over potential involvement of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in hiring terrorists to create unrest under the guise of a planned October 4 protest.
Asif claims that:
- Unemployed youth are being recruited and paid money to stir chaos.
- A video circulating on social media shows a convoy of non-customs-paid vehicles from Waziristan, with individuals hiding their faces, suggesting possible terrorist activity.
- Some recruits might not even hold valid national identity cards.
He highlights two key issues:
- Police inaction: Asif claims police are failing to verify the identities and motivations of those in the convoy, distinguishing between terrorists and ordinary citizens.
- Funding questions: He wonders who is providing approximately one crore rupees ($75,000 USD) daily for the convoy's expenses, suggesting a possible link to smuggling funds used for terrorism.
Asif expressed his concerns in a post on X (presumably a social media platform).
