District Coordination Committee Reviews MAMTA Programme Implementation in SBA

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Saddam Hussain Memon chaired an introductory meeting of the District Coordination Committee regarding MAMTA Programme. The meeting was held at Darbar Hall of Deputy Commissioner Office.
Meeting reviewed the implementation of MAMTA Programme under SSPDSS, effective coordination among the concerned departments, and other matters related to the programme.
On the occasion, Head of Sindh Social Protection Authority Shaheed Benazirabad, Humayoon Sheikh, briefed the participants about:
- The objectives of the programme.
- Provision of social protection facilities to deserving beneficiaries.
- Identification of eligible families through the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI).
He informed the meeting that under MAMTA Programme:
- Health facilities are being provided at 57 health centres across Shaheed Benazirabad district.
- 16,917 women have so far been registered under the programme.
ADC added that registered pregnant women under the MAMTA Programme would receive financial assistance of Rs. 41,000 over a period of three years, from the birth of their child until the child receives all 10 routine vaccinations.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon:
- Directed concerned officers to further strengthen coordination among all relevant departments to ensure effective and transparent implementation of the MAMTA Programme.
- Directed that all obstacles faced by deserving beneficiaries in accessing programme facilities should be removed on a priority basis.
- Emphasized that financial assistance under the MAMTA Programme must be provided to pregnant women strictly on merit and without any deduction, warning action against unauthorized deductions.
- Directed concerned officers to organize community awareness sessions to ensure eligible beneficiaries are fully informed about the programme and its facilities.
