Dubai Customs Reinforces City’s Position as Key Global Trade Gateway

Dubai Customs reinforces Dubai's status as a global centre for trade and investment, driven by its visionary leadership and core pillars of economic resilience, responsiveness, and government service efficiency. These factors underpin the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to double the emirate’s economy in the next decade.

In the face of global geo-economic shifts that have altered trade routes and supply chains, Dubai has not only maintained but also enhanced its role in regional and international trade. The Hatta Customs Crossing, a testament to Dubai's proactive vision, recorded exceptional growth in the first half of 2026.

Total trade value through the crossing exceeded AED37.08 billion, a staggering 175% increase from AED13.48 billion in the same period last year. This surge reflects Dubai's ability to capitalize on shifting regional trade patterns, boosting economic growth and reinforcing its position as a key overland trade hub.

This growth is mirrored in overland commercial transport, with a 160.1% increase in loaded trucks (108,811 vs. 41,831) compared to the previous year. The crossing continues to facilitate significant passenger movement, welcoming over 919,000 travellers and processing approximately 322,000 light vehicles.

These figures underscore the operational system's capability to handle accelerating trade and travel demands with remarkable efficiency while maintaining seamless traffic flow and unbroken supply chains despite regional changes.
