EDGE Group, a UAE-based advanced technology and defence group, and the Brazilian Army, through the Cyber Defence Command (ComDCiber), are launching a Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (COE). This initiative is a tripartite collaboration between government, industry, and academia, unique in Latin America.

The COE aims to:

  • Strengthen Brazil’s cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Contribute to regional cyber security through international partnerships.
  • Serve as a benchmark for other nations.

Both founding partners, EDGE and the Brazilian Army, will invest directly in the Centre, ensuring its operational effectiveness, independence, and long-term sustainability.

Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, stated:

"Cyber resilience requires long-term collaboration… This partnership reflects that belief."

The COE will offer specialized services to all Brazilian Armed Forces and federal institutions, including:

  • Professional training and certification.
  • Cyber incident response and digital forensics.
  • Strategic cybersecurity advisory.
  • Research and development of cyber defence doctrine.
  • National and regional exercise planning.
  • Development of cutting-edge cyber defence solutions.

Based on international best practices, the COE aims to position Brazil as a regional leader in sovereign cybersecurity. It will also seek affiliation, cooperation, and recognition with international cybersecurity organizations.
