Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrated With Religious Zeal and Fervour in Lahore
Lahorites celebrated the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), with great religious enthusiasm on Wednesday. The day began with a 21-gun salute in the provincial capital, performed by Army personnel who raised slogans of "Allah-o-Akbar," "Ya Rasool Allah (PBUH)," and "Pakistan Zindabad."
Special Prayers for Country’s Peace and Progress
Special prayers were offered at mosques across the city for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
Processions and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool
Numerous small and large Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions were organized in different parts of the city, with participants from all age groups. They chanted slogans of "Allah-o-Akbar" and "Ya Rasool Allah (PBUH)," recited Durood Sharif, and presented Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool. Rose petals rained on them, while special cleanliness arrangements were made along the procession routes.
Tributes to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Religious scholars and speakers highlighted the significance of the day, paying glorious tributes to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the benefactor of all humanity. Besides the main procession, several rallies were taken out from Outfall Road, Ferozepur Road, Chungi Amar Sidhu, and other areas of the city. Various Mehfil-e-Milad-e-Mustafa programs were also held, attracting large crowds of devotees.
Greetings from Punjab Chief Minister
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended greetings to the Muslim Ummah on this auspicious occasion. She emphasized that the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) marked a significant event in human history. The Holy Prophet, she noted, became a role model for the world through his impeccable character and ‘Uswa-e-Hasana,’ establishing an exemplary socio-economic order.
She also offered Durood-o-Salam upon the Prophet (PBUH), stating that he stood as a support for orphans and a mercy for both worlds. Sharif believed that the advent of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) eradicated superstition and ignorance, illuminating hearts with Tawheed. She added that following the golden teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) could lead to eradicating injustice, cruelty, and lawlessness, making Pakistan a citadel of peace and harmony by embracing ‘Uswa-e-Hasana.’
Illumination Across the City
Various public and private buildings across the city were illuminated to mark the occasion. People decorated their homes and bazaars with lights, while Sabeels (water fountains) and Langars (community kitchens) were set up for all to enjoy.
